Sal Formica is a devoted public servant, experienced small business owner, and trusted community leader committed to building a safer, more vibrant, and thriving Suffolk County. As a 36-year resident of Commack, Sal brings a deep understanding of our community’s needs and a proven track record of action.

With a distinguished career as a retired Second-Grade Detective in the NYPD’s Elite Emergency Services Unit and former Chief of the Commack Fire Department, Sal has dedicated over 30 years to safeguarding our neighborhoods. As a local restaurant owner, he understands the challenges facing Suffolk’s families and businesses, bringing real-world experience to address economic concerns.

Sal’s commitment to our community shines through his 15 years of service on the Commack South Little League Board, fostering youth development and community spirit. As your County Legislator, Sal Formica will champion public safety, fiscal responsibility, small business support, and enhanced quality of life for all Suffolk County residents.

Ed was born in Kings Park, served our country honorably, knows our community and is dedicated to preserving what makes Smithtown special.


Voting to re-elect Ed Wehrheim as Smithtown Supervisor acknowledges his proven experience and vision to lead Smithtown forward. Throughout his tenure, Smithtown Supervisor Ed Wehrheim has prioritized environmental preservation, park restoration, and downtown revitalization. He implemented modern wastewater management, attracted new businesses, and cleaned up blighted properties.


Over the course of three years, he renovated 75% of the town's parks and beaches. He updated the 1957 Comprehensive Master Plan to align zoning with current land use, protect neighborhoods and agriculture, establish an open space fund, and remediate industrial areas.


Wehrheim has improved quality of life while maintaining a AAA bond rating despite the pandemic, with Moody’s citing a growing tax base and strong leadership.
